The title from this post is from a song called Be Not So Fearful by Bill Fay (also sung by Jeff Tweedy). Stop wondering and check it out.
Last night me and Dan got Slurpees and watched I Am Trying To Break Your Heart. Seriously - SUCH a good documentary, especially considering it was Sam Jones' first (I think?). I have such a special relationship with the album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - and to be able to watch how it was made and the drama behind its release...what a treat. But seriously, essentially Warner Brothers paid them to make the album, didn't like it, let them go (WITH the rights to their songs) and then Wilco re-sold it to a subsidiary of Warner Brothers for three times as much as they made the first go-round. Way to go Warner Brothers. Way to not know good music when it knocks on your office door.
On the way to Lake Erie last weekend, me and Dan were talking about Top Five's. If you're musically in the know, you know that this originated from the book/movie High Fidelity - where a Top Five list is given for any and all categories of music. Dan and I struggled with our all-time Top Five albums (hard category to tackle). We realized there's two Top Five categories for every one topic - a personal Top Five and Critically Acclaimed Top Five. It made me realize that I should think of Top Five's more often. But there's so much music out there...it's overwhelming to me.
This morning I had a genius brainchild. I'm sick of Tae Bo because of the cheezy motivational yelling and the awful beat of the music. This morning, I worked out along with the DVD, but had the sound set to the TV which was on CNN. So I got my morning news and workout with one fell swoop. It was a major success.
And praise the Lord that He answered my groggy prayer last night as I fell asleep - that I would have the discipline to start making more time for my devotions in the morning. It's been a major FAIL lately. Not today, my friends. Not today.
Dan's amp finally arrived! Now he can start building it and accomplish his long-time goal - huzzah! We were going to have salad and homemade pizza for supper tonight, but now, in celebration we're going to have celebratory salad and homemade pizza for supper tonight :)
In closing, I couldn't help but share. This is my nephew, who to me, looks like a baby old man. He's the spitting image of my dad. I laugh every single time I see this picture. I think it might be wallet worthy.
