May showers

Saturday was finally the first wedding shower for my sister-in-law! I was mmm...95% in charge of planning it and pulling it off, so I was a little high strung. But it all ended up going really well and I think the family had a great time! A BIG check mark can be made for my summer plans. Besides the wedding and my parents coming, this was one of my biggest events!

Advice cards during the prep process

Advice cards - I had these on the tables and people filled them out and returned them to vase...

...and before opening gifts, Jessie and Ramon read all the cards out loud

Candy-holding centerpieces in the making

In the making on the left, finished on the right

Aw, yay! I put Hershey's kisses in them. Lucky for me, there are extras :)

Saturday, prepping food for the shower. "Butt rolls." The easiest and most crowd pleasing food I've ever made.

All the rolls, fresh out of the oven. (They smell like heaven!...or what I imagine heaven to smell like, at least.)

All set up

Each table had a picture frame (bought for $1 apiece and primed/spray painted), but every picture and lovesong lyric was different

Candy holders (with pens for the advice cards)

Dessert table! Holla! (The chocolate cake in the back is a 7lb beast that I knew Jessie would freak out over...and she didn't disappoint.)

Saturday was 49 days until the wedding

Teresa (my m.i.l.), Jess, Jen, Grandma (and Ramon creeping in the background)

Totally and undeniably a 100% Schumaker picture

Table after the eating...

HA! Dan's mom won this t-shirt as a door prize. Halfway through the night his dad snuck off and changed into it. Obviously too small, the re-appearance of the t-shirt was a hit. (If you can't tell, it's a picture of J&R in sunglasses that says "AWESOME" above it.)

There are many more misc pictures to come in the next few posts. I need to catch up!

Oh! We found out that in early August we're going to have possibly NINE house guests for the weekend! If that's not motivation to get house projects done...I don't know what it is.

Deep, calming breaths...
