Solo Saturday

Today, as I was reading through my the latest blog subscription updates, I realized that I'm really grateful for blogs. Sometimes I feel embarrassed for having a blog - like it's an afterthought from the xanga trend of 2005 (which is how I met my husband, btw). But it keeps me in touch with so many college and childhood friends. I love that I get to read about my best friend's baby, Danielle's genius ramblings of the sleepless nights of motherhood and the trendy S.F. lifestyle of an old Ukarumpa friend...just to name a few. I love staying in touch. It makes the world seem smaller.

If you know me at all, you know I have a borderline unhealthy fascination with the Kennedy family. My sister somehow found a LOOK magazine from the 1960's (can't remember the specific year) that's a tribute to JFK. The cover is all tattered and has a big picture of Jackie holding JFK, Jr. Today I took it to The Lob to have it matted and framed. I get to pick it up on October 10th (WHAT?! When did it get to be OCTOBER?!) and I'm excitedly awaiting the outcome. I'm going to hang it in the loft, by the bookshelf with my numberous Kennedy books. (And, in what some may call my social awkwardness, I ended up rambling to the sweet girl in the framing department about my Kennedy interest. Precious thing...she acted like she cared and that it wasn't weird.)

When I spend a day without Dan, I realize how ultra lame my life would be without him. Today he headed to Ann Arbor for the Michigan vs. Minnesota game. (I watched it on t.v...final score was 58-0. GO BLUE!) So I woke up at 6, went running, did laundry, grocery shopped, ran some errands at Home Depot, made ravioli for supps and am currently watching It's Complicated. (LOVE THAT MOVIE.) Anyway, when he got home about five minutes ago, one of his first acts was to sit on the counter and fart. Nice. In about fifteen minutes we're going to watch the Tigers kick some Yankee butt (hopefull). But, my point is, it's nicer to watch fall sports with my man by my side :)

The high yesterday was 52 and the high on Friday is going to be 78. Make up your mind, October. It's cool, I guess. Thanksgiving and flurries will be here soon enough :)

NINETEEN DAYS UNTIL I SEE AMANDA! And fall walks and Pacific Northwest coziness and Oak Table brunch and La Push and Sluys Bakery pastries!

Also, I went to get my hair cut today and told the lady "the bottom of my collar bone" and somehow she interpreted that as "just brushing the top of my shoulders." I'm hoping it will grow 1-2 inches by...tomorrow :(

Haha! YES! We were both in one of the same "blog rings." I saw his profile picture and thought he was cute. We started leaving each other super long comments...which turned into emails...which turned into phone cals...which turned into Dan coming to Bryan and telling me within the hour that he loved me and knew he would marry me:)
