Despite having a baby, I had a super productive Saturday. I somehow found time to shop for flowers, buy flowers, plant flowers, do two loads of laundry, one load of towels, a whole load of cloth diapers, take a shower and be ready for church with plenty of time to spare... all with a baby in tow. I'm not sure how it happened, but it did, and I'm grateful.
Dan went with me to get flowers this year, which was a labor of love on his part. It was a warm pre-Memorial Day Saturday, so my usual greenhouse was PACKED with women of all ages making their picks for the year. Dan patiently pushed my oversized cart (accidentally just typed "oversized fart") down aisle after narrow aisle as I chose my flowers. I tried to hurry, so I'm not really sure what I grabbed. Any annual that worked with my sun/part sun/full shade areas, I snatched up. I was proud of myself for taking half the time I usually do each year...whilst I think Dan was feeling like it took longer than it should have. Alas...a man in a woman's greenhouse world.
The weather is finally getting warm in my neck of the woods, and summer is actually upon us. I'm already anticipating my sister's visit in mid-july with her husband and 3 kids. Oh...and icing on the cake is that my parents will be here too. I'm already conjuring up tons of fun things for us to do with the kids including but not limited to mini golf, beach day, Lake day, ice cream runs and the list goes on and on. More to come on that adventure...

Baby geraniums. We'll see how this compares to a mid-summer version of the same flower. |
