Happenings of late

Not much is incredibly new here...still just trucking alone with a newborn. As I'm typing this, I can actually hear poop exiting my baby's body. Yep. This is my life now.

I went back to work for the first time - I started off slow, only going for a half day. Thankfully, I'm only going back one day per week. I don't really want to, but I know it's good to actually interact with other adults once in a while. And the deal was that I could keep some of the money I make to set aside for travel money. So...I mean...I feel like that's a pretty nice situation. My in-laws are watching Jack while I'm at work, so again, super thankful for them and that I don't have to leave him at a daycare. They're good about sending me pictures throughout the morning to hold me over until I can snatch him up again :)

This past Saturday we threw our hands up and went to South Bend, IN for Chick-Fil-A. The closest one. An hour and forty five minutes away. It was our last free weekend until August, and this lady's been craving some CFA for a while now. So?...Why not?! Bud's first CFA :)

The big news in our house is that starting on Monday night, The Boy has been sleeping in his own crib, in his own room. While I'm elated at the thought of reclaiming my bedroom and not having to quietly crawl into bed as not to disturb the baby...on Sunday night, as he lay in his bassinet peacefully, I just looked over at him and cried a little bit. He's already getting so big so fast. I'm excited for him to be up on his own in the crib, Mr. Independent, but along with my relief at having a private room again, there's just a smidge of heartache too.

On the bright side though, for the two nights he's been in his crib, he's slept one hour longer until needing to be fed! Meaning I get FIVE AND A HALF hours of uninterrupted sleep. Which is...beyond wonderful, seeing as I haven't seen the inside of my eyelids for that amount of time continuously since before March 23.

Tonight Dan and I are going to a concert in Grand Rapids and leaving him with one of Dan's totally sweet, totally capable cousins, who's in the process of successfully raising three of her own boys. Here's hoping I can actually enjoy the show instead of worrying about this chunk the whole time!

Sweet summer toga baby
Thankyouverymuch
Watching jealously as mom and dad ravenously consume Chick-Fil-A sandwiches. Someday, boy. Someday.
We got him this new seat so he can sit upright instead of being in his reclined bouncy seat. He. Loves. It. Look at that face! Pure elation!
