I've never been so ready to be out of Grand Rapids for a while. No offense Grand Rapids, but sometimes home just calls my name and I can't ignore it. Friday, July 23 I'll leave work a bit early and start winging my way south, sans husband :( In all honesty, I need a few good, long talks with my mom and sisters and a chance to re-connect with the Immel glory. Not to mention reconnecting with the southern heat and a few sweaty runs with the sisterhood.
I did laundry at our apartment on Saturday and it rocked the cosmos.
This weekend I drowned in the goodness that is Twilight. On Friday afternoon all three things I'd been waiting for arrived at the library. Friday night and Saturday I finished reading Eclipse and was ALL geared up to watch Twilight and New Moon after church on Saturday night...staying up late with myself, eating popcorn in my pajamas...the thought alone excited me. So I watched the first one with MUCH joy (vampire baseball is the coolest thing EVER..I would so totally play) and got ready to put the second movie in the DVD player at 10pm. Only to discover...the DVD WASN'T IN THE CASE. NOOOOOO!!!! As a true testament of Dan's love for me, he immediately jumped online to look at prices at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Meijer, etc. We settled for Wal-Mart...$17. So we go and discover there are no $17 copies left, only the super-deluxe-editions for $26. Dan decided to give in and buy it for me - when for me, it was never a question because at that point I may have suffered a bout of mild depression if I hadn't been able to watch New Moon before Sunday. On our way out, Dan said, "Hey there's a Red Box. Let's just see if it's there...just for fun." And it WAS! So we ended up turning right around to return the DVD and renting it for just $1. With the first two movies watched, I was free and clear to see Eclipse Sunday morning. It didn't disappoint. The first movie was okay, but I feel like you get a better idea of Edward and Bella's relationship from the book...just because the reader gets to know what she's thinking - not just watch from an outside view, you know? Such is the case with all books-to-movies though, I s'pose.
Also, the Twilight (all 3) soundtracks are AWESOME to work out to.
OH. MY. GOSH. I saw a new preview for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in the theater. I was literally crying. Like, tears running down my cheek. My life will change when I see those two movies. Harry Potter has been part of my life for almost a decade and it will be mon-u-mental when the series comes to an end. Laugh at me, if you will. Harry is important to me.
The big office move is Friday. My boss is freaking out and his ridiculous paranoia is overflowing onto me. Ugh. It's gonna be a long week. Sometimes I wish I worked at a bakery. Lucky for me, I get to escape Michigan this weekend and head to Chicago with Dan. Tom Petty and carefree-ness, here we come! It's nice to forget about the stresses of both work and unemployment, even if it's just for two days.
Bachelorette tonight! I wonder if this episode is the one where Frank reveals his douche-ness?
Tomorrow is my grandpa's 91st birthday. In honor of him, here's a picture, back in his younger days, of Papa and my two aunts and my mom. (My mom's in his lap...the youngest.) Love you, Papa!
