Hair on my pillow like a weeping willow

I feel like it's been a coon's age since I've updated. Actually, it has. A thousand apologies to my thousands upon thousands of readers who I know crave my rantings on a daily basis. Last week was exhaustingly emotional on multiple levels. By "multiple" I guess I mean physically and emotionally. (Including but not limited to: worrying needlessly, being 90% sure Dan was unconcscious in a ditch somewhere, battling with understanding God's will in relation to human emotion and journaling endlessly about it, being ridiculously excited to see my family...aaaand getting up at 4:40 almost every morning to go to the gym.) All of that to say...updating (I just accidentally wrote "updong"...what?) my blog hasn't been #1 on my priority list. Next week will be better. Less leaving the Narrow and Straight. Less sin.

Dan's birthday is only six days away! For reasons I can't explain, I get too excited about birthdays - mine or anyone else's I know. I think it's because I get super giddy about gifts - both giving and receiving. I've had Dan's present completed and ready to give for about three weeks. It's been a long, slow, painful wait. But only six days and the wait is over! (You'd think Dan would be more excited than me...but he's not.) Also, I'm making a Cookies 'N Cream cake. A little nervous, not sure how it'll turn out. In honor of the upcoming occassion, here are a few pictures of Dan's last birthday...

`The morning after Dan's birthday...the time has arrived. We'll fly to Seattle at 6:30 in the a.m. to reunite with the Immel family. A thousand hallelujahs will fill the air and rays of sunshine will fall upon my face as the I embrace my sister and brother-in-law, neice and nephew. It hit me today that Mercy is going to be FOUR this summer and I refuse to accept it. She was a mere chubby baby-child when I saw her last. But now, alas, there's a new babe on the way to grace the Brew-ha's. It will be loved.

I'm going to be experiencing Q'doba for the first time tonight. I don't deal well with making decisiosn about new food on the spot...so I'm perusing the website. (You can judge me. I deserve it.) I'll let you know how it goes. Because I know everyone's super interested.

Jessica Maple Schumaker. Stop touching my knee and being a freakazoid. For REAL. Calm down.

Lots of exciting things could be happening this week - namely getting Staples Rewards points to buy a memory card for our new itty-bitty toy-looking video camera. (Side note - this isn't super exciting in itself, only in that it means we're one stop closer to being prepared to go to Seattle!) Monday my insurnace rep is coming to work (which will take up working time), Tuesday we have Bible Study, Wednesday two co-workers will be gone and I'm going to a Reconciliation service at church, Thursday good t.v. is on, Friday night we'll do laundry, Saturday is Dan's birthday/packing and Sunday we LEAVE!

This post would be much more substantial and meaty, but I have the sound of old-school Sonic on the t.v., Jessie randonly rambling and Dan leaning into me, talking about how dumb Jessie. Distractions on every side...I'm socializing with twelve year olds. Honestly...

Heidi Kitten Schumaker. Don't tell me to calm down when the past three posts have been you saying how excited you are. Maybe YOU need to calm down! Also - complete your sentences. That last one you ended "with Dan telling me how dumb Jessie." Lol...12 year olds indeed....
