May the good Lord shine a light on you

The picture is a tribute to the fact that in less than a week, this will be my view out of an airplane window. WHAT. UP. Jeff and Kristen will be winging their way towards the U.S., Jason, Amanda and my mom will be driving their way from Coeur d'Alene to Seattle and me and Dan will be making the long air-trek from Detroit to SEA. A long flight, but nothing that a neck pillow, iPod and word find book can't cure. (Seriously, I'm a whiz at word finds.) I can't believe after months of counting down that the week is finally upon me. I'm sorry, but excitement will exude out of every post from now until I leave.

When I get home from work today I need to beg Dan for forgiveness with all humility. Last night I accused him of not being thorough with the tax information we've been getting in the mail. Between his unemployment, all of our student loans and our tax deductible giving, we have LOTS of stuff to keep track of. I looked through it in a haste last night and told him something was missing and that he needs to "take initiative" and "be responsible" and call the Loan Servicing Center today. It was there. All along. An argument that could've been avoided had I been a little more thorough. I'm sorry, Dan. This is my public apology and acknowledgment of the fact that you're so much more awesome than I am.

Not sure how I feel about the Health Care bill. I would know if some of those fancy politicians would've stopped in their flustered state to explain to the public what's actually IN the bill. Yeah...Health Care Reform...great! But what does it mean for me? Honestly, the most I know is that there's been rumblings about tax-payer funded abortions. I honestly can't lay claim to any knowledge other than that. So I can't say I'm for or against it...just in an awkward, uneasy place, lingering somewhere in the middle. I heard something about it not going into effect until 2014. It's possible we'll have another President then. So isn't all of this STILL up in the air???

My routine is going to the gym four weekdays a week. Usually M,T,TH,F. That way, right in the middle I can "sleep in" until 5:45. So today I woke up at 4:40 and drove to the gym, only to find a parking lot full of occupied cars and a DARK gym! I waited until 5:20 and the opener gym never showed. Blast! So now I'm committed to going T,W,TH,F and I completed wasted my "sleep in" day! I woke up at 4:40 and didn't even go to the gym. THAT, my friends, is a pure pity. An undeniable pity.

Thursday afternoon Dan and I enjoyed our first bike ride of the season. A nice brisk, 30-ish minute ride on the bike trail in good 'ol Byron Center. It was di-vine! Sure, our cheeks were a little rosy at the end of it all and my nose was running a little, but all-in-all, it was a great start to spring. Except...on Saturday, the REAL start to spring, it snowed. All day. And most of the night. Glorious, temperamental Michigan. Now, however, we're back to sunny skies and highs in the 50's. (Next weekend, when I skip town, it's supposed to snow/mix again. COME ON!)

As I'm at work, this will be my abrupt end. Next post, though, I have good quotes from my devos that I've been waiting to add! Sadly, I don't have the time to post them now. But soon!

I get to see The Lovelies in six days! This is a tribute to them...in all their loveliness...
