Thanks to the "spring forward" time change, we slept in until 9:45 this morning. Despite the lethargy, we found the motivation to get up and do our Sunday morning grocery trip. It's one of my favorite activities that we've adopted. We go to church Saturday night, so the leisurely Sunday morning stroll through Meijer (sometimes with a Starbucks hot chocolate/coffee) is AWESOME.
Me and Dan are watching the last half of The Ten Commandments. I can't believe he's never seen it before! When I found out, we decided to make it a Lenten activity. I love how awesome the affects are - the burning bush, the staff that turns into a snake. It's awesome. My favorite comment from the Peanut Gallery thus far: "Rameses. What an asshole."
Two weeks from today I'll be IN Seattle...with my husband, two sisters, two brother-in-laws, mom, neice and nephew. I can't put into words how excited I am! This week we should be getting Staples Rewards (to buy a memory card), our videocamera, Dan's two free pairs of shoes AND my birth control rebate ($50!!!...a long and IRRITATING story). Exciting times to come! Yey-ah!
The weather is warming up and I got to wear my Chacos twice this week! (Trivial, yes, but I've been waiting since I got them for Christmas!) The weather just has to get a liiiittle warmer and the lush greenery will spring to life once more! Michigan spring/summer is way greener than in the south. I'm convinved it's because of all the snow that melts into the ground and makes it so moist.
This post has been shallow and less than inspirational. A thousand apologies. The weekends aren't that exciting.
Here are a few pictures from my hot oil burns from a few weeks ago. It doesn't look that bad in the pictures, but the welts were...pretty painful.
I'm reading Grace and Power and came across this quote and really liked it:
"It is very silly to try to behave as you think people expect you to, because then you become simply a colorless creature." ~Janet Auchincloss

That quote is potent.
