Aug 31? Really?

A treat for the eyes. I stumbled upon this classic picture this morning. I took it, post-anesthesia, after getting all four wisdom teeth removed (this was 2006) and sent it to my then-boyfriend, Dan. I had no idea this even happened until my dad told me about, two days later.

I'm so pretty

Work has been a struggle lately. I'm whining and drowning in self-pity about how I'm under appreciated and overworked. It's not true. I'm not overworked...just under appreciated. This is obviously something I need to get over. I'm pretty sure everyone in the world is under appreciated.

The mornings and evenings are ever so slowly turning cool and, dare I say, fall-ish! (Or as my dad would say, "fall-eesh.") Boy am I excited to start burning my Leaves candle and use Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin wallflowers to scent my house. Not to mention the cold nights to come that will make it appropriate (nay, necessary!) to wear these AWESOME Minnetonka slippers that I just bought at T.J. Maxx for only $30!!

We have absolutely ZERO big plans for Labor Day weekend which just makes my heart happy. I'm going to get started painting the trim in the basement, while Dan continues to work on the bookshelf for the loft. Ah...the simple life. The most exciting part of this (much needed) long weekend will be a probable trip to Mongolian BBQ for their all-you-can-eat for $9.99 with a drink purchase deal. Yes. Every minor holiday we get Mongolian coupons, and every minor holiday we participate.

My lack of updates has really been because there's nothing exciting to share. (Which should make it obvious that my Minnetonka purchase really IS exciting to me!)

One more thing on the exciting news/fall front: My sister sent me a recipe for pumpkin sweet rolls. They look amazeballs (to borrow a term from the one and only Giuliana Rancic...love her and Bill).
