"Home, where my thought's escaping..."

So, the big event on my personal horizon is this Saturday! We're having an "open house" (for lack of a better term) for the extended family. Not many people have been to our house since we first bought it, but we're FOREVER talking about all the work we've put into the 'ol gal. So we thought, what better way to answer everyone's questions at once...than to have everyone over at once?!

It's going to be so fun - I'm having desserts, coffee, pumpkin spice cookies, and other such goodies. Dan is working hard to put the finishing touches on the loft furniture so it can be in place and on display, come Saturday. I've put TONS of work into a photo album to document the progress of our projects, so people can see the transformations. All-in-all, I'm hoping for a success.

120 homemade chocolate covered cheesecake balls. Absolutely a labor of love.

Random page from the photo album I put together

The "Before & After" section of the album. I love this section.

Dan, hard at work applying coat #2 of poly to the side table and big bookshelf.

I took this last night, as I'd just finished washing the car and Dan was finishing up his last grass mowing of the season. I realized that our house looked like it was glowing and it made my heart so big and warm.

This is home. And I love it.

Can you have an open house for me when I come visit someday? All of those chocolate-covered cheesecake balls just for me :)
