On Saturday we stopped by our friends' Cory and Angie's house and they found out that I'd never carved a pumpkin before. Angie was borderline outraged, so we drove to Meijer, got a pumpkin and this, folks, is my first ever pumpkin carving. Not too bad, eh?

So, somehow it got to be November. And now that October's over, I guess the commercial world has decided it's the Christmas season. My sister called me and said they were playing Christmas music on the Christian radio station. Um...for real? And this morning I popped into Starbucks and BAM! they're using their Christmas cups. (Last night I realized I'm decorating for Christmas in a mere 25 days and I'm feeling sorely under prepared. To Hobby Lobby we go...)
Let's talk about coffee for a minute. I've always enjoyed the Grande nonfat peppermint latte as a wee winter treat. The cool peppermint flavor is magical. But a new staple for me lately is the Grande Americano with room for cream. Just add a little skim milk and you've got a tasty morning buzz. Amanda re-introduced me to the Americano when I visited her a few weeks ago and I just wanted to share the joy. (Also, I'm interested to know if there may be any medical benefits to cinnamon. Because these days, it seems like I can't drink coffee without cinnamon. Sprinkle it on top, mix it with the grounds...however you do it, it needs to be included.)
As I type, on this chilly fall day, a crockpot with chicken noodle soup is preparing itself for supper tonight. Also, homemade bread. But that definitely did NOT prepare itself. I wish.
I think I've mentioned this recently, but I'll mention it again. I've been watching Lord of the Rings while running for the past little while. It's been a long time since I've watched those movies back-to-back and I've forgotten how awesome they are. This morning I finished Fellowship and almost cried when Merry and Pippin distract the Orcs so that Frodo can leave The Fellowship. "Hey you! Over here!" ...so sad. Oh. And also when Boromir dies in Aragorn's arms. "I would have followed you, my brother. My captain. My king." (A far cry from his attitude at Rivendell. "Gondor has no king. Gondor needs no king.") Anyway, I'm super excited to get into Two Towers. I LOVE ROHAN! (I can hear the delicate theme music now...)
ANYWAY.
Because I've been given permission to talk about the pregnancy, here's my super cute sister - glowing at 21 weeks :)

Ok - I'm going to say this. I know you are torn with the whole getting pregnant thing. But no matter when it happens, HAVE FAITH. Because, if Amanda is any indication, you will be a frickin ADORABLE pregnant lady. I'm just sayin. I wish I was there/she was here cuz I want to photograph the heck out of that bump.

Jenny! I've been reading Vivian Elle since you stared! I love it - it's SO entertaining :) And if I ever need invitations or anything, we'll have to meet midway in mid-Michigan to discuss!! :)
Heids, I know several people who take cinnamon supplements every day. I think it's good for heart health.
