Dan's been having some frustrations at work due to a big project and had to go in early yesterday to get some work done, so we drove separately. Before I left home he called to tell me that the roads were slippery and to be careful. It made me feel loved :)
I got my shoes for my sister-in-law's wedding! Usually I go so plain and safe with shoes and I've never in my life worn high heels. I've never been much of a fashionista, but I find myself noticing style more and more, thinking Oh, that's cute! or Hm, I really like that scarf and those shoes. So in an effort to stretch my comfort zone, I chose to actually do something a little daring (for myself) that I wouldn't normally do. I was at David's Bridal and saw a pair of shoes and thought, Oh, those are CA-UTE! And, instead of what's natural to me - shying away from them because they have a heel and leaning towards something more "safe" - I picked them up and bought them! They'll be dyed a deep purple color to match my dress. I've been practicing and wearing them around the house. I think. That I'll be okay.

Yesterday since I drove myself to work, Dan gave me some of his wallet spending cash for a treat at Starbucks on my way in :) Grande nonfat latte, anyone? Yes please! The guy took my order, and bless his heart, asked for my name to write on the cup. When I got my drink I saw what looked like a third grader's handwriting with the letters (letters, not word) "Hiedy". I've seen my name spelled lots of ways, but I think that's a first.
While I was waiting for my brew, I spotted this cute coffee mug. I know it's new so it'll be a while, but I'm going to watch for it to go on sale/clearance!

Good news! We finally got our roller shades for the living room, dining room and kitchen windows! We ordered them in mid-November and they've been on back order since then. Woo hoo for privacy! I don't have a picture yet, but one's coming. We're just waiting for our front door shade - they need a part for the cordless roller at the top. (The other windows have cords...it was $50/window extra for cordless. I wanted to, but we're not super rich.)
That good news only offset by the news that our bathroom mirror went from shipping on February 2nd to February 10th :( It better get here before March 12th (or something), because that's when we have to return our temporary Target mirror!
No word on the treadmill front. We're waiting for the delivery people to get in touch with us to set up a delivery time. Hopefully this week!! Dan's working away at mudding and sanding the drywall in the e.r. (exercise room, not emergency room) and when he's done I'll kick it into high gear with priming and painting!
In an effort to ready myself for my daily exercise routine that I'm craving (SO badly!), last night I spent the first hour of The Bachelor stretching, doing crunches and some leg exercises. It. Felt. Awesome. I see it being a nightly routine until I can run again. My legs are even a little sore today. (Thanks for the pep talk, A!)
Speaking of The Bachelor...anyone watching? Michelle, oh my gosh. I don't even know what to say about that psychopath. For real. The girl has GOT to go! I couldn't help myself and read some spoilers, so I know who's going home next week, who gets the hometown dates and who wins Brad's heart. (*sigh*) For some reason though, I still reel in suspense at every rose ceremony.
Okay. Conference call in ten minutes. Ugh. I hate them.
To close the post, here's a recent picture of my aDORable niece and one of my cutey pie nephews :) They're getting so big!

I think we're going to invest in a cordless shade for the nursery, just so there's absolutely no reason to worry. Sounds like your house is coming together well! It sucks to wait though.
